2008-9 Season Starts August 26
Yes, it’s still summer, but it’s time to start marking up your calendar as we look forward to another fun and exciting season of girls hockey. Pre-season skates begin on Tuesday, August 26 – see the Schedule Page for specifics. These sessions are a great way to get back on the ice again and get the rust off your blades. Girls new to ECGH are also welcome at these skates as long as they register in advance and bring their $50 tryout fee to their first session.
With two Middlesex Yankee Conference Girls League (MYC) teams at U12, U14, and U19 levels in addition to a U10 team, and our full-ice Learn-to-Play program open to girls 7-14, ECGH has one of the largest girls programs in the area. All girls in the program skate an average of at least three hours each week, with regular skills sessions this season led by the professional instructors of T.E.A.M.S Training.
Tryout Session on Saturday, September 26
Although we have filled out solid U10, U12, and U14 teams during our spring tryouts, we have kept a few potential roster spots open on our Tournament (A1) and Competitive Play (A2) level teams at all age levels. So, girls currently on an A2 or Learn-to-Play team will have the opportunity to move up a level, and we also welcome girls new to the program to tryout as well. See the Schedule Page for specific times for each age group. More information on tryouts and placement policies is available in the Tryout FAQ.
Special Bring a Friend Offer
We encourage all ECGH families to spread the good word about girls hockey in general and our program in particular – and this year we are offering a special incentive for helping us continue to grow the Wings: a $50 credit toward tuition or ECGH gear for referring a new player who signs up at any age or level. So, invite someone to a preseason skate! To get your credit, just make sure the new player gives your name as their reference when they register.
Tuition Rates Set for 2008-9 Season
ECGH is committed to providing our girls more ice time than most other programs, and as you can guess with the increased cost of energy everywhere, our ice time and game fees have increased significantly. Accordingly, the Board has set tuition rates for the coming season at $1100 for U10 and U12, $950 for U14, $425 for U19 (10 game fall season), and $600 for Learn-to-Play. Full tuition is due by September 15. ECGH has payment plans and some scholarship funds available for families with financial hardships. Please contact Bill Walker, President (bwalker@ecgh.org), or Mark Holthouse, Treasurer (mholthouse@ecgh.org) for further information.
Send in your pictures
Send ECGH team and player pictures to webmaster@ecgh.org and they may be used on the ECGH website. We're looking for pictures of our players having a great time at practice and in games. Send in both group and individual shots.
