About ECGH
The Eastern Commonwealth Girls Hockey Association is a volunteer organization with directors voted for one and two year terms. We are a registered sanctioned girls program of the USA Hockey and Mass Hockey associations. Our "home" ice is the Fessenden School rink in Newton Massachusetts and this is our third season. Our players come from many of the surrounding communities - Brookline, Newton, Needham, Waltham, Wellesley, Lexington, and others. We add girls to our teams throughout the season.
We offer both "A" and "B" level teams in each age group allowing girls with similar skills and experience to play together. See the Team Pages section for more information. Our "A" season starts a week after Labor Day and our "B" season starts in the beginning of November. The teams will play in Middlesex Yankee Conference Girls Hockey League.
Our goal is to have FUN and we intend to stay focused on that goal at all times. Whether on the ice, in practice or games, in the locker rooms or at any of our other functions we will strive to provide an environment that resonates with fun. We again plan to provide activities both on and off the ice that the girls will enjoy. In Addition we hope to provide a program that develops both individual and team skills of each girl to the best of their abilities. We will closely follow guidelines set out by USA Hockey and MASS Hockey both of whom have spent much time and energy developing programs for children of all ages and abilities.
